Broadland Business Park, Norwich

Sheils Flynn has led the masterplanning and green infrastructure design of this prestigious 54 ha business park development in Norwich.

A network of indigenous native planting is inter-laced with new and enhanced existing habitats to create a robust, integrated landscape framework. The aim is to maximise biodiversity while providing a distinctive sense of place and a high quality setting for commercial properties. At the heart of the development, a central lake provides a focus for a cafe pavilion and the open space network, while also functioning as a key part of the water management system. The development is being designed and implemented in phases and Sheils Flynn has been responsible for the detailed design and implementation of many of the individual plots. A co-ordinated programme for ongoing landscape management is essential to the success of the scheme and Sheils Flynn has briefed and commissioned landscape managers and ecologists to undertake this work.
