The landscape for this commercial development 'lift' the quality of the road interchange environment and provides a positive landmark at a principal gateway to Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
Informed by a detailed analysis of local landscape character and views, the landscape of this gateway site is designed to maximize the perceived scale of greenspace. New buildings, including an extensive green roof, are sited to frame key view corridors into the site and a broad, flowering meadow extends and unifies the various roadside verge strip grasslands so that they read together as a strong setting for the new development. A wetland swale along the edge of the meadow provides an attractive setting for an outdoor dining area. A central linear pedestrian space, defined by hedgerows, seating walls and a line of specimen trees, leads to a shared space at the heart of the scheme.
