Havering GI Strategy

A review of Havering's GI and a strategy for its future development, management and delivery

Havering's GI Strategy analyses existing networks of greenspace and ecological corridors, provides a framework for assessing their value (incorporating an economic analysis) and sets out a strategic investment framework for the long term. The Strategy takes account of the relationship with existing and proposed GI initiatives beyond the borough boundary, including the Thames Chase Community Forest, HLF Land of the Fanns Landscape Partnership, Rainham Wildspace and the All London Green Grid.
By driving investment in GI, the Havering GI Strategy supports nationally driven policies and actions, including those in the fields of biodiversity, water management, climate change, green growth, transport and energy, sustainable urban development, health and spatial planning. This work will become part of the evidence base for policies within the emerging Havering Local Plan.
